Shimadzu Acquires Tescan

The Kyoto, Japan based Shimadzu has acquired all shares of Glass HoldCo s.r.o., which holds all shares of TESCAN GROUP, a.s., which is based in Brno, Czech Republic.
By acquiring TESCAN, It appears that Shimadzu wishes to offer more end-to-end solutions for their customers. Tescan currently offers TEM's, SEM's, FIB-SEM's, X-ray micro CT and laser processing systems that Shimadzu does not. Shimadzu also expects to expand Tescan's presence in Asian markets.
